The Witcher Geralt and the Dragonborn from Skyrim have long become legends of video games, but which of them deserves the title of the best fantasy hero?
By now, gamers are familiar with both The Witcher series and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. In both cases, the player appears as a powerful hero, capable of making difficult decisions, on which the fate of the world around him depends. Depending on the person on the other side of the screen, these characters can be the embodiment of kindness or cruelty.
Both games give players the opportunity to reveal their characters from the side that they consider more important. As a result, Geralt and Dovahkiin will certainly save the world, but which of them will act cooler? Which of these two characters will be the best hero?
Geralt: Starts The Game With Amnesia
Geralt loses his memory after being rescued by his daughter, Ciri. This is due to his decision to fight the Wild Hunt to save the family. However, even having lost his memories, Geralt defends his loved ones and continues to fight the monsters with all his might.
Retreating from the threat and fleeing danger is not an option for him.
Dragonborn: Starts The Game As A Prisoner
Dovahkiin did not have amnesia. Instead, the game threw him into the ranks of prisoners who are being taken to certain execution. Instead of taking revenge after his escape, Dovahkiin decides to accept the fate of the Dragonborn and protect Skyrim, the country that tried to kill him.
The hero has every reason to be angry with the province, but instead, he goes to save it.
Geralt: Does Not Kill Ordinary People
Despite the status of an experienced hunter, who knew the encounter with all sorts of dangers, Geralt would never kill a person without a good reason. This is surprising considering how biased some people can be towards witchers. On several occasions, they treated Geralt completely unfairly.
Nevertheless, the hero will not raise his hand against an ordinary person, unless he is left with no other choice.
Dragonborn: Joins The Werewolves
Whatever one may say, Dovahkiin is more open to interaction with “monsters” than Geralt. So the Dragonborn joins the ranks of the Companions, where he soon becomes a werewolf himself. Instead of using new power for chaos and destruction, the hero decides to help the guild with their affairs.
This shows that Dovahkiin recognizes as equal creatures that many would try to kill.
Geralt: Destroys Villainous Organizations
Geralt adheres to his witchcraft school and avoids other organizations unless they have truly insidious plans. Whether it’s a gathering of bloodthirsty vampires or an alliance of evil werewolves, Geralt is not intimidated by this.
The witcher is always ready to fight hordes of enemies to protect those around him.
Dovahkiin: Cooperates With Several Good Organizations
Despite all the evil that lives in Skyrim, there are also some good organizations that the player can join. Dovahkiin joins the College of Winterhold and the ranks of the Companions – two factions that strive to do good deeds for the good of the world.
Even when the bad guys enter the scene, the Dragonborn is willing to thwart their plans without harming anyone.
Geralt: Dreams Of Settling Down
Geralt is tired of monster hunting and relationship difficulties. As it turns out, he just wants to settle away from the usual violence with the love of his life. And this desire is easy to understand, given the bloody brutality of his last years.
Geralt is not eager to fight, but on the contrary, wants to leave the battles far behind.
Dragonborn: Builds A House For His Family
The pinnacle of Dovahkiin’s wanderings is a beautiful mansion built by his own hands for his wife and children. It costs a lot of resources and costs, but this does not bother the hero. Having erected the house itself, the Dragonborn decides to completely furnish it so that the family lives in complete comfort and coziness.
This indicates that the protagonist does not forget about those who are waiting for him at home.
Geralt: Will Do Anything For Ciri
Geralt is more than willing to die for his daughter. He rebuffs the Wild Hunt, conquers oceans, and even other dimensions to provide the girl with a peaceful and happy life.
Ciri is the most important thing for Geralt, even more, important than Ian, to whom he is also deeply attached.
Dovahkiin: Adopts Two Children
Dreaming of a family, Dovahkiin decides to adopt. The hero could easily have a child of his own, but instead searches for homeless and abandoned children, helping to solve one of the big problems of war-torn Skyrim and showing true compassion.
It is also worth noting that the Dragonborn will never offend a child, neither his own nor anyone else.
